Always nice to have the time to do some old fashioned sketching on holiday.  Apart from being extremely relaxing (and a good opportunity to have a quiet beer) it’s also a great way to enjoy, observe and understand how people have organised, designed and used their lovely spaces.  This is the wonderful Bull Inn in Totnes.  Lots to like about how they have modernised a traditional market inn.  Soft corners, rough textured walls, eclectic traditional furniture, great colours and nice detailing.  I particularly liked the traditional timber corner beads that have been exposed on the rough plastered walls which now may be finding their way in some form into a building of mine later this summer!
