Finishing the summer with a tour of current projects in Pembrokeshire which are nearing completion. It really has been a growing summer and Jane in St Dogmaels has been making good use of the time the builders are finishing the interiors to completely transform the pile of earth from the excavations into an extraordinary, beautiful and thriving habitat garden. Environmental legislation in Wales now requires the enhancement of any site for habitat and biodiversity and this project certainly excels in providing that. Jane has created a beautiful set of landscaped spaces to sit, work and admire the amazing views over the estuary. The carefully chosen planting conceals rainwater harvesting tanks and a soak away beneath the pond creating a truly sustainable and low impact garden to compliment the energy efficient and low carbon straw bale house.
