Great to have received planning at Trevayne Farm and campsite above Monkstone beach in Pembrokeshire  to provide additional shop and cafe space in the old barns and a new knitwear studio & office for the Owner, Anna’s sustainable knitwear business Monkstone Knitwear.

The farm is surrounded on all sides by stunning sea views but the client wanted instead a quite, calm and peaceful space where they can focus on their designing and making.  The studio brings back into use an old courtyard that is currently lost behind a collection of traditional barns and modern sheds.  Anna & rich wanted to celebrate the ad-hoc and functional nature of the working farm and the studio does this by using the old stone boundary wall to shelter against and a tall vaulted agricultural style roof to bring light down into the studio and mezzanine.  The landscaped courtyard with access to the new shop, store and cafe will transform a forgotten corner of the farm into a beautiful, peaceful creative space, amongst, but separated from the business of the farm and campsite.  Looking forward to getting the project on site in the new year.
