Brockwell Park Gardens: London

Renovation and Extension of a traditional Victorian townhouse with new garden office in Brockwell Park Conservation Area in SW London.

The challenge was to create a generous open plan family kitchen and secure planning for the garden studio in a conservation area with tight planning restrictions.  The studio has been designed to sit quietly between the existing garden boundaries with only the shallow pitch green roof visible from the park.  The green roof provides a rich habitat and also provides a living textured surface to soften the visibility of the roof when seen from the upstairs windows of the house.
