Church Street: Sherston Conservation Area
Renovation and extension of a traditional Cotswold terrace cottage in the Sherston Conservation Area.
The project is about creating space and light in a small terraced cottage on a narrow site. The challenge has been to create a large, open plan kitchen with access to the garden without restricting daylight to the centre of the cottage. To do this we have reconfigured the stairs and cottage layout to simplify the circulation and act as a light well for the living room and hall.
The small extension will replace the existing galley kitchen with a large open plan space and create a dedicated utility and downstairs shower room. The renovation is also allowing the heating to be upgraded to a modern Air Source Heat Pump which with increased insulation will dramatically reduce heating bills.
