One Cat Farm: Ceredigion

One Cat Farm is a collection of luxury, off grid cabins in a secluded woodland nature reserve is West Wales.  Lyndon & Jessie have created the entire site themselves and needed extra space in their cottage for their growing family and business.  The solution was a simple single story extension that project into the garden at the rear of the house to create a large, open plan kitchen and a new master bedroom with direct access to a large garden terrace.  These en-suite dressing and bathroom have been positioned between the busy, shared space of the kitchen and the peaceful retreat of the bedroom to provide acoustic separation and a privacy.  The extension has been entirely built form natural, local and reclaimed materials using a timber frame insulated with wood fiber insulation and completed externally in local slate.
