This is the place. It’s the bit of the building where people end up at, where you just seem to find yourself after wandering around a bit. The place where you will lean in the doorway to drink your coffee, or sit under the canopy to watch the rain in the bay. It is the place where people will gather to sit and chat and where you will have supper on the terrace in the summer. It’s an extension of the living room but close enough to the kitchen and the huge corner windows means you can see the church and the sea from many different angles as soon as you walk into the back half of the house or come downstairs in the morning. It is not there by chance. The whole house was pushed and pulled around during the design stage to allow the space to be exactly where it is and it is great to find it being casually and quietly used just the way it was intended. Jones & Bradley have done an amazing job constructing the openings, veranda and roof detailing, more lovely things to look at as you sit and admire the view. Looking forward to seeing the interiors completed later in the year.
